Vietnam! Motorbikes! Adventure?

Well the time has come to see Vietnam! An idea starts with a spark, the spark grows to a fire.  Travelling is the same way, it starts with an idea and things happen from there!  Being that this trip was unplanned for the most part and a random adventure, why not make it more random by buying a motorbike and travelling a country on that bike!  My great idea led me to some amazing experiences and some dangerous situations at the same time! Upon arriving in Vietnam, I set out to buy a motorbike, my 3rd day in the country I ran across a bike and bought it!  I then

A day in Godzilla’s playground!

Hong Kong was beautiful, exciting, eventful and fun.  I will miss that wonderful city and country, I will be back!  As my adventure is coming to an end, I have one more stop to make.  A quick stop in Tokyo to visit not only Japan, but some close family I have there as well! A fantastic way to end a great adventure. Upon arriving in Tokyo, it is evident that this city gets travellers from all over the world.  The welcome signs consist of many languages, including many that I can speak or read – Farsi, Arabic, English, and Spanish! Welcome to Hoi An, considered by some to be the tailoring capitol of the world.  An old market, a Japanese Covered bridge, a very busy harbor in the 16th through 18th century, and tailor shops – everywhere.  Hoi An is a beautiful city, it has beautiful beaches with clear waters, wonderful people and great food.  It is however full of tourists due to the fact that you can have custom made clothing done here for cheap!  A full suit – from cashmere/wool mix costs a mere $80, a dress shirt to go with it – $15, all made to size!  Granted these prices I’m quoting are the lower prices of the area,

Riding and Crawling. Life underground!

Ho Chi Minh/Saigon.  Vietnam.  Motor bikes. Smiles. Cant say much more about Ho Chi Minh City besides this.  Welcome to Vietnam!  This is a wonderful country! People are so nice, smiles everywhere, always a helping hand!  A truly vibrant, growing and fun city. Ho Chi Minh – Landing The first thing you notice are all the motorbikes.  There are thousands of them – they are everywhere – this is truly the land of motorbikes.  Zip down the road, go between cars and trucks, weave around pedestrians, its organized madness!  You have to be an extremely defensive driver here, always have your “A-game”!  Seeing all this excitement, I wanted to be

Packing – it’s a love/hate relationship

Everyones favorite thing and worst nightmare. The excitement and anticipation of new travels and experiences, but the feeling of forgetting the unforgettables! The feeling of “did I pack my phone charger?” Or “what about my glasses?” And the worst one “my camera!” Everyone has had the wonderful feeling of forgetfulness. Happens to the best of us.  So this is not my first rodeo around airports or travels. It’s just my first rodeo going alone and “backpacking” through many countries where things we take for granted in the USA are harder to come by.  Deciding what to take along is half the battle. You want to pack light but at the
